Double Duty Birthday

Last night my side of the family celebrated Mom and I’s Birthdays!  (Yes, my birthday was Feb. 1st…but I’ll take it!)

We went to Tepanyaki at Jordan Landing with my family and my Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, and nephew/cousin Cam.  Cam was so entertained, he actually ate his whole meal.  My Dad even ordered Nigiri and made him eat some (Dad told him it was SUSHI and not RAW FISH!)  He swallowed the tuna whole, no fear!  Zach hopes and prays that our children will like Sushi, or else we’ll have to find a new routine for Date Night in the future.

Catching our shrimp, such attractive faces!  Zach was cheating.

Frying up our noodles and blowing out my candle!

I decided not to try my ice cream treat (I lost the battle over the weekend with my ice cream sundae and have to realize this lactose intolerant thing is not going away) so I gave it to Cam.  My appetite for the sweet creaminess disappeared quickly; Cam thought the ice cream was “too cold” and was sticking a spoonful in his mouth and “warming it up”, then spitting it back out in the bowl to enjoy again later.

A Rough Week…

This last week was a tough one for me.  Working in the real word has taught me so many things, and most of all, it has taught me a lot about myself.  You know that saying, “When it rains, it pours”?  That was my week emotionally and literally (with the horrible weather).  Sometimes when I have a sucky (yes, sucky is a word Mom) day at work, all I see are all the negative things for the rest of the week.  This morning when I woke up, I took a look back and realized…it wasn’t that bad!  I even had the pictures to prove it.

Monday morning I woke up early to go workout at our clubhouse and heard the birds chirping at 6:00 am.  On my walk back home I saw that my neighbor had planted these flowers.  I LOVE Tulips.  It finally felt like spring.  That afternoon the weather took a turn for the worse and I decided to run to the gas station for a treat.  In front of me, checking out, was this lovely speciman…

In case you were wondering, tattooed on her derrière is SEXY TIGER.

I also got to witness a real-life “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots” moment between my Dad and Cam.  My father BARELY fit into the helmet and Cam was LOVING every second of it.

On Tuesday our King Size bed arrived.  I realize it seems foolish for two people of Zach and I’s stature to lust after a King Size bed, but someone, who will remain nameless, has a horrible case of the night sweats and also sleeps at a sharp diaganol.  Therefore, the extra room is much appreciated.  Now that most of our furniture is here and the walls are painted, all we need now is a mattress!

The weekend was great too!  We went out to dinner with Zach’s brother and our sister-in-law to Macaroni Grill, and on Saturday went to my favorite restaurant with some friends and had ice cream sundaes!

So…I can’t say that the WHOLE week was bad.  I am glad I have family and friends that can make me laugh and get my mind off the sucky-ness!

THE LAUNCH 2011: SNOWBOARDER MAGAZINE

Just yesterday, Zach’s family’s Helicopter Company got a call to do a shoot for Snowboarder Magazine up in Park City!

Red Bull sponsored the shoot and put some graphic wraps on the helicopter, and the article and images are going to be featured in next month’s SNOWBOARDER MAGAZINE.  Considering Classic doesn’t have a blog, I’m stepping in to document this exciting news!  Zach was invited to fly in chopper during the shoot, but couldn’t get out of work….?

Here are some images they have posted on the website, Zach is in seventh heaven!!!

Utah Man + Utah Gal?

When Zach heard that the University of Utah was joining the Pac 12…(or Pac 10…I’m still confused) we knew immediately we were buying season tickets for the 2011 Football Season.  Since they are playing in a different conference, we are excited to see some new teams and change the schedule up.  We received our tickets today…so you know what that means:  The majority of our Saturdays will be spent at Rice Eccles Stadium come this fall!  I am currently working on convincing Zach that we also have to see the Cal vs. Utah game in San Francisco and other various away games of interest…to me.

Don’t worry, I am a True Blue Aggie fan FO LIFE!  But I would never buy season tickets for USU football.  I have sat through too many horrific games to make a move like that.  Besides, I am married to a Utah Man now…

A Few More!

We officially have 15 PAGES OF COOKBOOK! And we’re not even close to done!  Recently added are some of my favorites, and I HAD TO SHARE!  Seriously…Red Velvet Pancakes and Charlee’s famous “Smashed” Potatoes?  AMAZING!  My friends at work are surprisingly into this, and it has made lunch time so much more interesting…and TEMPTING.  Alas, my quest for healthy eating is STILL prevailing!   Click on the images to make them larger!

Oh, and Side Note:  Don’t look at the calories, it makes it less fun!
