Lisa and Jason

I went to high school with these two love birds.  When she told me she wanted grey + chevron…I knew I was going to love her wedding already!

She went for the multi – fold option and they turned out SO darling.  I was nervous when she told me she wanted to do Emerald Green and Robin’s Egg Blue along with the other elements…but, I must say, she has excellent taste!  Her wedding is going to be the picture of perfection, I am so excited for them both!

4th of July Weekend

Our weekend of Independence started early this year.  My Dad and Brother’s birthdays are a day apart and at the end of June, so we always celebrate them around the 4th of July.  We went to my Dad’s favorite; David’s.  My aunt and her family came along, including Camron.   Apparently Cam likes David’s as much as Dad does, because I caught him licking his plate of potsticker sauce in secret.  Like a cat.

After dinner, Zach and I went to a movie at the Century.  We never go to movies during the week, but decided to be “dangerous” and go for it.

You’d think that because it is America’s birthday, that we would have chosen to eat out at an American restaurant…but alas, we went for more Asian cuisine.  We tried somewhere new, a Japanese place called Sapa downtown.  The design was so fun, and you can even sit in a tea house outside.  They have done a great job, who would have ever thought you could find a gem like this on State Street?

Saturday, we went to Utah Lake to ski the scum.  It was greener than usual this time, the color of split pea soup!  My parents have a boat membership at the private marina there (not their proudest moment) but the water levels were so high from all the flooding that you couldn’t even access the ramp.

Once we finally launched the boat, we got to the fun part.  Zach had just returned from Lake Powell with his family and was all wakeboarded out.  But he did entertain us with his dazzling display of kneeboarding skills.

He refused to go without a helmet, a stylistic choice.  I was actually glad he went with that option, because not long after standing up on the kneedboard, this happened…

Thank you, helmet.

Me and mom were content watching the boys participate in their little tricks.  Surprisingly, Dad didn’t even jump in the water once!  In his defense…it was really cold, but the heat was unbearable.  My only motivation for getting in the water was the fact that my flesh was on fire.  I did manage to clear the wake for my very first time on a wakeboard (I’m not much of a jumper, I’d rather slalom ski) and really enjoyed it!

We had so much fun, eating our picnic of Subways and getting some Vitamin D.  Even though it was a short day on the lake, we laughed really hard and enjoyed each other’s company.  We may have got a little too much sun…hence the Rudolph noses.

Monday we spent at two family BBQ’s.  First the Fotheringham’s in good ol’ Magna.  No other family has a water fight in the rain, I can promise you.  Before getting totally soaked to the bone, we drove down to Sandy for the Henderson par-tay.  The Hendersons always have a 4th of July BBQ at Zach’s Uncle Jimmy’s house.  There’s always good food and good conversation!

Besides, who doesn’t love a holiday full of boating and BBQ?
