Fun with Friends

Monday after Sloan’s morning nap I decided to take her on a walk.  It was our first walk around our neighborhood, actually.  She loved it and the weather was perfect.  We walked for over a mile around to a park nearby our house.  I was getting mean-mugged by some other moms as I walked by.  It was probably because of my NAS sweatshirt I was wearing.  Maybe I am a little too hood for some of the moms in this area…

Sloan was completely content until she heard the barking dogs.  We just have to stay clear of a few houses on that route next time.

walking

Monday night was the Bachelor finale so after I got Sloan’s last feeding in for the night and put her to bed, I ran over to my friend Jenn’s house so her, Lindsey, and I could watch it together while Zach held down the fort.  For the last couple of years we have been doing a Bachelor/Bachelorette bracket.  This year I picked Kelsey for the win – pretty comical considering she turned out to be the craziest chick on the show.  I won’t explain my reasoning.  I am glad we finally got together to watch one episode…even if it was the finale.  Jenn prepared a marvelous spread including bruschetta.  I brought mini Kit Kats, Red Velvet Oreos, and a Blow Pop for myself.  Because that’s how classy I am.

Tuesday morning I had two work meetings and Sloan was a peach for both.  We even stopped for lunch on our way back home, just the two of us. Sloan turned four months so we had our monthly photo op in her room.

After Zach got home from work I recruited him to be our third team member of our walk-a-thon.  We went just as the sun was coming down and Sloan was all smiles.  While strolling our streets we found a discarded CD entitled – RAP CiTY.

The CD was in such bad shape that it couldn’t be played…but Zach and I had a good laugh all the way home about what musical stylings were on that bad boy.  Maybe this area is more hood than I thought.

Wednesday I had Activity Days – so Sloan and I had some prepping to do.  It was her first activity she has actually attended.  Usually she stays at home with Zach.  She hung out in her stroller the entire time and babbled and cooed at all the older girls.  She loves watching people.  She also loves that terribly annoying car seat toy – the sun / flower / ladybug get-up.  Thank you to my Aunt Shaunie – she loves that thing!  She was psyched after her feeding in the bathroom just looking at that thing…

Thursday Sloan and I went to lunch with some of my neighbor friends.  Every one of them used to be in my ward, but are now no longer.  Two of them I served in the Relief Society Presidency with and live in different cities.  It was so great to catch up with Jas and Melodie – along with Lindsey – my carpool buddy and Pepper [Jasmine’s babe].  Both not pictured.

We dined at From Scratch.  Margherita pizza, you betcha!

Friday I ran some errands with Sloan in the morning and then met up for lunch with my friend Whitney.  Her mom watched her boys while we had a girls-only lunch at Paradise.

Later that night I promised Zach we could watch the Utah basketball game.  We decided to grab dinner at Noodles and Co. downtown.  Carbs make Sloan sleepy. She got that from her mother.

When we got home we put Sloan to bed and turned on the game.  It went pretty much like this, late into the night…

So I decided to work on a project.  I bought some of these darling headbands from my favorite shop on Etsy and when they arrived I realized how they were made and how easy they would be the create in my own.  Her color ways are gorgeous and her quality is amazing, but it’s hard for me to spend $9 on a headband (even for myself).

So while Zach stayed 6″ away from the TV – I cut Target nylons into baby headbands.

It’s a strange feeling – becoming a mom that makes bows.  I guess I make bows now…

They were so easy to make it was comical.  And they cost less than a dollar a piece to recreate.

Even though the Utes lost, we called our Friday night successful.  And now Sloan will know her mom cares about her (at least once) enough to make her bows.

Saturday morning we all slept in, even Sloan.  It was glorious.  Later I ran some errands while Zach and Sloan had daddy / daughter time.  He dressed her for the day, as well…

Afterwards we made our way down to Sandy for my friend Chris and Bre’s little man’s birthday party.  A Ninja Turtle party.  Sloan didn’t love her mask at first, but later that night it really started to grow on her.  Maybe she preferred to be Michelangelo over Raphael…

Afterwards we had another party to attend – our nephew’s birthday bash.  We ended the night with dinner at PF Chang’s and a trip to the grocery store.

Saturday night was also the first night Sloan slept in her nursery (the whole night).  Since my doctor won’t allow me to let her sleep through the night yet – keeping her in our room has been the most convenient because she has a 2:00 or 3:00 feeding.  Besides…Zach doesn’t mind.  He sleeps through all her noises anyway.  Maybe because they are identical to the noises that HE makes at night.  Don’t worry.  I was a wreck.  I could barely sleep.  She, on the other hand, slept amazing.

Sunday we had church and afterwards we waited patiently as the brackets for the NCAA basketball tournament were announced.

Zach made nachos and we dressed Sloan in her Ute gear [thanks to my friend Jenn] to celebrate.

Later we went to the Fotheringhams’ for Sunday dinner.  My parents had just returned from St. George and I basically forced my mom to stop at The Sugar Cookie to get me some…sugar cookies.  She brought some home for us to try.  I can’t believe I am saying this, but I think I liked their original sugar cookie more than Cutler’s.  The Sugar Cookie > Cutler’s > Swig.  But I think I will need another cookie to decide for sure.

Also, this week:  Sloan laughed.  A real laugh.  Not a giggle or a little chuckle.  A full-fledged belly laugh.  Second favorite moment as a parent, right there.

Sloan Appreciation

It felt good to be home after being out of town for two weekends in a row.

I had a ton of work stuff to finish up and loads of laundry to catch up on.  Sloan loves to watch me fold laundry.  She is excellent at sorting socks.  Obviously, I have a problem.  Target socks are our favorite.  Seriously, buy yourself some CG athletic socks.  Heaven on earth.

My work projects have been all over the map lately.  I am still helping to design a corporate building down in Orem and the progress has been so fun to watch.  I also helped them develop some motivational social media ads (over 20 of them, actually)…

I have also been designing some POPs for a local spa product company, which has been so refreshing.

Wednesday night the three of us went out to run some errands and get some sushi.  1 of my 2 dates fell asleep (honestly, story of her life) half way into our dinner.

I know I am cursing myself, but Sloan has been an exceptional baby the last few weeks.  She is always great, but especially these past few weeks she has been stellar.  Sleeping pretty much through the night, taking regular and long naps during the day, and happy as ever when she is awake.  Zach had a brilliant idea – we were going to have Sloan Appreciation Day on Friday, to show Sloan how grateful we are for her being such a trooper these past few weeks.  Sounds crazy, right?  Well not according to a fancy shmancy parenting book I read before Sloan came.  I guess even babies understand positive affirmation.  So that is exactly what we planned to do.

Thursday night Zach and I went out just the two of us.  My parents watched Sloan and we went over to Jordan Landing (because it is convenient from their house) for dinner and a movie.  And by dinner I mean In N Out Burger by street lamp light.

Then we caught our movie. Smelling like two greasy cheeseburgers.

Friday we had Sloan Appreciation Day.  I finished all my work stuff during her morning nap and when she woke up we were all business.  Reading her favorite books 10,000 times.  Playing with Sophie the Giraffe and her favorite rattle until she hit herself in the head with it because she was so tired.  Then she took another long afternoon nap – with Sophie and my hair in hand.

When she woke up I painted her toenails.  She has been obsessed with her feet lately and I thought it would be funny to paint her teeny toes to see her reaction.  It blew her tiny little mind.  She wouldn’t stop staring at them.  When I put socks on her to go out she had a mini melt down!

We had another carpet picnic for dinner on Friday and gave Sloan a long bath before putting her to bed and watching a movie, just the two of us.

The next morning I begged Zach to go with me to Lonestar for fish tacos.  He obliged and so the three of us got ready to drive down south.

As soon as we got there, Sloan was fascinated by all the people and the loud Latino music.  She wouldn’t focus on us for more than a couple of seconds – she was in heaven.

Afterwards we stopped at The Store to get Zach’s favorite turkey roast and other supplies for Sunday dinner.

Daylight Savings threw us off a little bit (more me than Sloan, actually) and we barely made it to sacrament.  Sloan is finally fitting into some of her church clothes…

After church I cooked dinner for the three of us.  I had a meeting and Zach attended our neice’s harp recital.  But making a full meal that didn’t involve anything frozen was an accomplishment if you ask me.

I still trip out at the fact that a baby lives in our house.  Lives with us, in our house.

Crazy.

“Normal” Crazy

While in Charleston, my sister-in-law and I had a pretty funny conversation that has stuck with me for the last few weeks.  We were talking about the last few months and how crazy they have been.  Usually, well at least for Zach and I, things are already crazy.  But lately, things have been an abnormal amount of hectic and busy.  I kept saying that with my brother’s wedding, our Girls’ Trip to Charleston, some giant work projects, and with some big baby stuff out of the way – hopefully my life can go back to “normal” crazy.  Just the right amount of busy that you don’t go insane, if you know what I mean.  Unfortunately, this week was not back to normal.  But we did get a lot accomplished and checked some big stuff of our to-do lists!

Monday when Zach got home from work we rushed off to our breast feeding class at the University Hospital.  It was almost a 3 hour class and Zach braved the entire thing with me and didn’t complain once.  Even after seeing all the strange nipples in the instructional video.  Our only details on the class before attending were that spouses were encouraged to join and we could bring snacks if we wanted.  As soon as I mentioned snacks, Zach perked right up.  He asked if he could bring In N Out Burger to the class.  I am a horrible wife and refused.

Even without his double double, he was such a great sport…

I have had the opportunity to work on some very fun projects the last few months, but some are still in the works.  Some, however, have finally come to the point of being public.  I got to design a fun Halloween Party invitation for a friend that I worked on the La Caille bridal shoot with.  She throws a giant bash every year and this Halloween the theme is Arabian Nights!

Also, the company I have been helping with graphic work, Lemmon Lane, has officially launched their website and products!  I did their branding and also helped them create all the production files for their pillows and building blocks.  Their stuff is to die for!

Tuesday I taught a mini lesson at our Relief Society activity on design in your home.  I haven’t been to a RS activity since I was in the presidency!  I miss seeing the ladies in our ward outside of our three hour church block.  It was a lot of fun!

When I first found out I was pregnant I made a fitness goal for myself.  Sounds stupid, but without goals in my life I feel like I become stagnant.  So I set a goal for myself:  maintain multiple mile runs until I was 8 months pregnant.  I accomplished this goal Wednesday!  I ran a 5k (3.1 miles) on the treadmill.  I have been doing this a couple times a week up until now, but it has been gradually getting harder.  Not necessarily uncomfortable, just harder.  I was so happy when the treadmill read 3 miles that I started to cry.  Sounds ridiculous, but goals make me a better person…

photo 1

I looked pretty foolish to my random gym mates, I am sure, crying on the treadmill.

photo 2

Baby girl and I made it!  I even said to myself, out loud, “We did it!” and snapped a pic to commemorate my accomplishment.  I drank four bottles of water and then promptly drove to Swig to reward myself [and baby] with a sugar cookie!  My egg-shaped self managed to do it – and plan to continue to run – until I can’t anymore.  I think exercising has helped my pregnancy immensely and even though I get some weird looks on the treadmill, working out has been the best thing for me.

The nursery is almost finished.  At least the “big stuff”.  Other than hanging a few hooks, setting up a few of her random necessities, and washing and organizing – we are good to go!  I hung all the artwork for her gallery wall above her changing table this week.  It was my last difficult task to do on my nursery list.

Friday Zach and I went out on a date for dinner and a movie.  We are taking advantage of this last month [plus some weeks] by trying to go out on a date a least once every week.  We alternate on who gets to pick dinner and who gets to pick the movie.  It’s a good thing, too, because I would pick Mexican food every time if it were up to me!

Saturday I had my very first baby shower.  It was thrown by my closest high school friends and held at my friend Brittney’s house.  I was so overwhelmed by all that they did to make it so special.  I can’t thank them enough for all the work they put into it.  I feel so lucky!

And how cute are these Diet Coke cans…?  Britt is a vinyl master.  My friend Whitney also made all of these amazing treats – including homemade Swig sugar cookies!

Thank you to everyone who came and helped!  I know how much work goes into showers and it is not easy.  I teared up all the way home thinking of how blessed I have been all these years to have these girls in my life.

8 months down.  Feeling large.  Our hospital bags are almost completely packed.  I also filled out a birth plan this week and about had a coronary trying to weigh my options on what to do and when to do it.  And what to do if and when those things don’t happen.  I know I can do it as long as I have Zach there alongside me, keeping me focused.  Now if I can just keep him from sneaking away and going to In N Out Burger while I’m in labor…

My Brother’s Wedding + The Birthday Boy!

To say that the last few weeks have been hectic is a total understatement.  I realize leaving the country and coming home four days before my brother’s wedding was totally our decision, but to add to the mix – it was Zach’s 29th birthday this last week and I left the day after my brother’s wedding for a girls’ trip with the Hendersons.  But first, my brother…

His wedding dinner was Thursday of this last week.  My mom and I took on the centerpieces for the dinner ourselves.  My sweet friend, Martha, ordered the succulents for me from Ensign Floral and the day after we got home from Paris I picked them up.  Days prior to leaving for Paris I had been collecting mason jars, vintage books, and wooden boxes for the tables.  Tuesday of this last week we put all the stuff together and I arranged all the succulents in their appropriate containers.

IMG_2631

For our first time making floral centerpieces of any kind, we were all pretty pleased at how they turned out.

IMG_2660

The vintage soda pop crates my dad found were a total hit – by far my favorite pieces!

IMG_2661

Wednesday night Zach and I went out for his birthday dinner.  His real birthday wasn’t until Friday [which was the day of my brother’s wedding] and I didn’t want to skip his annual tradition, so we dined at Benihana Wednesday instead of Friday.  He has been going to Benihana for his birthday for as long as he can remember.  We also went and did a little birthday shopping before hand.

IMG_2674

He was such a good sport to spend his 29th birthday with all my crazy family members.  I couldn’t have hand-picked a better husband, honestly.

IMG_2677

Thursday was the wedding dinner.  It was held at the Gathering Place.  We spent the first half of the day setting up all the tables.  Luckily, my mom and I had organized it well so it was pretty efficient.  We had enough time to head home and all shower up before the whole thing started.

So many family members and friends came to support Blake and Brittany.  It was such a special thing to be a part of.  I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.  It was also wonderful to catch up with so many people we don’t see that often.  Two of my cousins are expecting babies as well – so we had to get a photo.  Carissa [on the left] was due 19 days from the time this picture was taken.  I am 30 weeks [plus a few days].  Kylee [on the far right] is 18 weeks.  And we all conveniently wore black – so we even matched for said photo.

The next day was the wedding at Magnolia Grove Reception Center.  The ceremony was held in the outdoor courtyard and the weather was a dream.  I am so excited for Blake to experience married life.  I have never seen him so happy.

Again, I was overwhelmed with the support Blake received from our family and all of our long-time friends.  As I type this he and Brittany are enjoying their honeymoon in Costa Rica!  It was a late night – which ended with Zach and I stopping at McDonald’s for some midnight nourishment.  We were so grateful that everything went so smoothly and we are all relieved to have all the madness over.  At least for a few hours…

Zach passed out minutes after crawling into bed and I stayed up to pack for a weekend in Charleston, South Carolina with my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law.

Sometime during the night (Paris appropriate time, I assume) I received an email from our photographer that took our maternity photos while in Paris letting us know our pictures had been edited and were ready for review.  I can’t believe how lucky we are that the only person that replied to all my many inquiries about maternity photos turned out to be so talented and so easy to work with.  She only sent me a few to preview, but I can’t wait to see the rest!

Swiss Days and Such

Monday we made even more progress on the nursery.  I apologize.  I feel like I talk more about the nursery than I do about my pregnancy…

I hung up the bracket shelves I spray painted from IKEA and framed all of the prints – a few go on the shelves, and the rest for a gallery wall [surprise, surprise – I think I have a gallery wall in every single room in my home] that is going to go above her changing area.

Our house is slowly turning into a baby’s home.  I have to smile when I see new “furniture” additions in different corners of our home…

Tuesday was a day I have been waiting for for months.  Years, if I am being honest, but months for this specific date.  It was the Madewell Grand Opening at Fashion Place Mall.  My favorite store on the planet (with the exception of Zara, which has yet to come to Utah…please let that be next on the list, retail peeps).  I showed up 10 minutes before the doors officially opened and by some stroke of luck I was the last person in line to be handed a gift card!  I never win anything, so I was on cloud nine.  It pays to be a super fan, I guess…

My friends Jenn and Chelsea met me there and it was so enjoyable that it required a picture outside of the doors, obviously.  I managed to have $50 on my mystery gift card!

The rest of the week was crammed with work projects.  Since Zach and I were to leave over the weekend for a vacation which we have deemed our “babymoon”, I had to finish up a lot of work stuff and tie up some unfinished projects.  I was basically shut up in my little home office for three days – only taking a break to watch my dad paint the dressers to go in the nursery.  Long story short – I ordered two dressers from West Elm [with an incredible and generous discount from my sister-in-law] and I was told they were white.  Yes, I even called their distribution department and the lady swore up and down they were white.  The second dresser arrived Tuesday – they were both cream.  So my dad came over with his paint sprayer and repainted both dressers white.  He didn’t complain once – other than to tell me that buying brand new furniture and painting it is like purchasing a car off the lot and repainting it…but I love him for that.  He is right.  I just couldn’t put cream furniture in an all white room.  Call me a nursery narcissist…

Once the dressers were painted we moved them upstairs so I could replace the hardware with brushed brass pulls.  If you ask me, it was a good call…

Thursday I left for Park City to meet up with my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law for Swiss Days.  I stopped at the outlets before everyone made their way up.  I didn’t know at the time, but I would purchase more from the outlets than I did at Swiss Days.  We shared a room at the Montage for the night before waking up at the crack of dawn to hit the booths.  Luckily the beds at that place are like sleeping on a real cloud – because we only got like 4 hours total of shut eye.

My favorite items at Swiss Days were these darling wood signs from the Salty Buffalo booth.  My sister-in-laws purchased several.  I can’t wait to see them in their homes – mostly in the rooms of their kidlets.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

I purchased one item – a bib for baby girl.  We dined at our regular spot – the pizza and pasta place across the street from all the action.  It was a great (almost) 24 hours with the Hendo girls.  Thanks to the ladies who planned it all and made it all happen!

photo-58

And to finish up another random post…I hit my 28 week mark – which means I am officially in my third trimester.  (Photo cred to my sister-in-law – filling in for Zach’s weekly dad duty).

28 weeks

(For the record, I am documenting personal things in a book – food cravings, “firsts”, weight gain, crazy pregnancy dreams…)

Just a couple of things I will say though – now that I have embraced pregnancy attire, the pregnancy leggings from Pea in the Pod are the best purchase I could have made.  I have 4 pairs – black, navy, grey, and another black pair – and they are all I want to wear.  I got them on a two-for-one sale and it has been my favorite purchase this entire pregnancy thus far.

I don’t sleep with a pregnancy pillow, just with my regular pillow still.  I have gained 11.5 pounds, don’t have any stretch marks (yet – knock on wood), and sleep great.  It is very rare that I get up in the middle of the night – but when I do, it is usually around 4 in the morning to use the restroom.

Movement has been so crazy lately.  She has moved up higher and has officially started kicking my ribs.  It doesn’t hurt terribly, but just surprises me more than anything each time.  I am still craving the same things – ice cream cones from McDonald’s and nectarines.  Zach doesn’t even ask anymore if I want to stop at McDonald’s when we are out on a date.  If he spots those golden arches, he immediately pulls through the drive through and gets me a cone.  No questions (or requests) needed.  I don’t have any food aversions at all.

I have been having Braxton Hicks, however.  The first couple of times they scared me to death, but now I know what they feel like and they don’t shock me anymore.  It isn’t painful, just feels like my belly turns to cement.  When they come on I usually take it easy for a bit, drink more water, and relax.

My belly button is still in, but is becoming smaller and smaller by the day.  I feel like life is pretty much the same pregnant as it was before I was pregnant – with the exception that I can’t sleep on my stomach.  That is the only thing I really miss.

At week 28 I am still running on the treadmill.  I can’t run outside, the heat is too much.  You can find me in our neighborhood clubhouse gym, running on the treadmill, with a fan going full blast.  I hope to continue running and lifting weights for as long as I can, but am not going to push myself too far.  At my 27 week appointment my doctor told me I could continue to run because when it was time for me to stop – I wouldn’t need to ask, I would just know.  She says my body will tell me and it won’t be questionable.  She’s cool like that.  I really like her.

So that’s it, pretty much.  I am trying to be better at documenting the typical pregnancy stuff, but I don’t want to bore anyone with my useless information or facts.  So that’s the best I will ever get to doing a pregnancy survey, I guess…

As for this week, Zach and I will be heading out of town for our make-shift babymoon.  Getting home just in time for my baby brother’s wedding.  Not ideal timing on Zach and I’s part, but sometimes you have to roll with what you’ve got schedule wise!

I’m gonna crush this third trimester business, bring it on!

27 at 27

This week was project nursery.  Monday my parents came over after work and helped us paint.  Luckily I chose white for the walls and ultra white for the ceiling, so it wasn’t that difficult.  I bribed my parents with dinner at Cafe Rio as payment and they even stayed with us late cleaning up.  My Dad has been working at my brother’s new house non-stop for the last three weeks.  I know he was probably so sick and tired of painting, but he still came and helped us.  I am so grateful!

Once the walls were painted I could get to work on some simple things on my own.  I hung book ledges and some other shelves by the time Zach got home from work on Tuesday.

painted

Also, I scored at the killer Backcountry.com sale and picked up two winter buntings for baby girl.  Since she is going to be born in the middle of winter I figure if we plan to escape the house at all, we better be prepared.  She definitely won’t be chilly…  Zach rolls his eyes constantly at me when it comes to this little lady’s wardrobe.

Processed with VSCOcam with a5 preset

I really haven’t craved anything this entire pregnancy (with the exception of Costco nectarines).  This week I had to eat my words because all I could think about was soft serve cones from McDonald’s.  I had one almost every day this week.  I figure it is better than hitting up Coldstone every day – on my wallet and on my calorie intake.  I looked at my online bank statement this week and couldn’t help but laugh at all the $1.08 charges…

Processed with VSCOcam with m5 preset

Speaking of sugar – I had my glucose test this week.  I chugged that Fruit Punch flavored drink and didn’t think it was that bad, honestly.  It tasted like a melted snow cone.  The baby is measuring right on track, heart beat was strong, and I got my results back.  I “passed with flying colors” says my amazing OB and my blood work looks good, too.  I was dreading the test and I have to say, it wasn’t that terrible at all.  I have drank worse things in my life…

The midget’s glider came this week as well.  We had to take off the door to the nursery to get it in there, but nonetheless it is in there now.  It’s my favorite piece of furniture thus far (as it should be – I am going to be spending a lot of time on that thing).  Zach also installed a reading sconce for me above the little reading/nursing corner.  Who knew I married an electrician?!

Wednesday was my soon-to-be sister-in-law’s shower on my mom’s side of the family.  I helped with invitations and favors.

So many people came and Britt was showered with so many fantastic gifts.  We have less than three weeks until the wedding day!

Also not pictured (why do we never get pictures?) was our neighborhood Girl’s Night at City Creek.  We dined at Brio and I dragged Jenn along to a few shops with me as well.  It was so fun to see these girls – they are always great dinner dates!

Something that also came later in the week that is totally non-essential but completely necessary in my opinion were the lights I ordered from Bright Lab.  They are a local company and make the most amazing light garlands.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

Zach came home to me stringing the lights.  He first thought they were for Christmas (prepping for Christmas in August is actually common for me) but when I informed him they were going to be decor in her room, he was puzzled.  He’s been worried our baby won’t be able to sleep due to the giant marquee letter and now a 24′ string of lights.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

He actually loved them once I got them all set up, however.  HE is the one eating his words now…

Over the weekend we saw the 100 Foot Journey,  dined with Zach’s parents at Market Street, made another very eventful trip to IKEA for some more baby swag, attended a viewing, went maternity clothes shopping, and had a date just the two of us out for a steak dinner.

This week (at 27 years old) I hit 27 weeks.  As I type this I am 7 months pregnant.  For some reason this week I felt really old.  I am one of the oldest people that I know having their first baby.  27 in Utah is like ancient when it comes to starting a family.  But Zach and I do things a little differently, which can be a good and bad thing, and this one we feel great about.  Maybe that’s why she came so fast – she had been waiting for Zach to knock me up all these years!

In terms of typical pregnancy symptoms/side effects I still have nothing to complain about.  I am still sleeping great at night, still not sick (knock on wood), and feel pretty normal – other than the fact that I have a belly full of cement.  This little nugget is compact.  My tummy is as hard as a rock.  For some reason I thought that it would be softer?

27 weeks

I have given up on my “rubber band pants trick” and have resorted to wearing either leggings or maternity pants. I was hoping I could continue to wear some of my regular pants, but to no avail.  I am officially in what Zach calls “EXPANDO BANDOS”.  Not the most attractive pants, but comfort is winning over style right now.

We are excited.  We are nervous, but way excited.  The earliest she could be here is 8 freaking weeks.  Let’s not talk about the latest…because my doc already scheduled my 41 week appointment and I have a feeling I might just make it to that appointment with baby still on board.  I don’t care how long she takes to make her debut – I just want a healthy little babe.
